Origin

Lawrence Township is a township settled in 1816 in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The population was 1614 at the 2020 census. Lawrence Township forms the western, southern and eastern borders of Lawrenceville. The township is bordered by the Towns of Tuscarora, Lindley, and Caton in Steuben County, New York to the north, Jackson Township to the east, Tioga Township to the south, Farmington Township to the south and west and Nelson Township to the west.

Members of the Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors and the administration continue to market this community as an exciting place to start or develop any type of business. Lawrence Township has a rich history as an economically strong community over the past 200 years and hopes to continue to experience tremendous growth that will keep the tax-base strong while maintaining green space and allowing the Township to offer a variety of services to its residents.
